Nanjing University New York Alumni joined 2024 New York Joint Colleges Picnic and Culture Fest held at Ridgefield Park, New Jersey on 6/22/2024. More than 1000 Alumni of over 30 universities in the greater New York area participated in the fest.

On June 9, 2024, Nanjing University Boston Alumni teamed with China Pharmacology University    (NJU-CPU Alumni) participated in the annual Boston Dragon Boat Festival. The Team won 3rd place in C-group 500 meter race. See more 校友活动 | 南京大学和中国药科大学校友队勇夺波士顿龙舟赛奖牌.

In April 2023, Nanjing University delegation visited Hong Kong to strengthen ties with top universities in the region. The focus was on fostering collaboration in scientific research, student exchange, and communication among young scholars. The visit aimed to establish a comprehensive network with Hong Kong institutions across various sectors, including education, science and technology, business, and public charity.

On August 20, 2023, Macau Nanjing University Alumni Association (NUAA Macau) hosted a ceremony to award scholarship to Macau students newly admitted to Nanjing University. Nanjing University Vice President and Professor Yajun Zou, Suogeng Zhang, Jian Wang, Jia Fang, Yufeng Zhang, and Directors of the Nanjing University Education Foundation US including Minghong Lu, Dr. Gang Xu, Professor Baichun Xiao attended the ceremony. Professor and former Provost of Nanjing University Aoao Xu, Ge Wei (President of NUAA Macau), Shenghua Lou (Chair of NUAA Macau), Bing Shui (Vice Chair of NUAA Macau), Huajun Tang (Vice Chair of NUAA Macau) and Yanping Li (Secretary General of NUAA Macau) hosted the ceremony. Professor Chunming Wang and Mr. Tenglong Fu discussed with participants on the topics related to career and business development. Recipients of the award and a representative of the students newly enrolled in Nanjing University shared their perspectives and expectations in studying at the university. Vice President and Professor Yajun Zou gave a speech to encourage the students to develop solid foundations for their career by emerging at the university fully utilizing all the resources provided by the university.

On September 15, 2023, NJUEF representatives, together with Nanjing University officials, visited the China Design Group Co., Ltd., a comprehensive engineering consulting group managed by Nanjing University Alumni celebrating the business success of NJU Alumni. The Group has consecutively won over 300 Science and Technology Progress Awards on national, ministry and provincial levels, Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Awards and Consulting Achievement Awards as well as multiple major international awards. In 2014, the company was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (China Design Group, SH:603018). Many members of the Group’s executive leadership team are Nanjing University Alumni. Participants of the event discussed supports for the development of Nanjing University and how to support higher education in general by providing funding, career education and career opportunities to students of Nanjing University and other universities.

In September 2023, the Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies collaborated to organize the "Shanghai-Nanjing Twin City" series event. This event was dedicated to exploring and discussing China-US relations, aiming to strengthen the bond between the center and its alumni while fostering a vibrant community for alumni from different classes. Throughout the week-long program, participants, representing various institutions, engaged in diverse activities, such as a visit to the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress and a roundtable discussion at Tsinghua University.

In November 2023, Nanjing University co-organized the World Academicians’ Forum on Advanced Science and Technology (WAFAST) in Suzhou, China in collaboration with the Association of British Chinese Professors. The event took place at the new NJU Suzhou campus with multiple sessions chaired by over forty academicians from China, the UK, and other developed countries.

The forum focused on the themes of artificial intelligence (AI) and green manufacturing, with the overarching goal of promoting cross-border academic exchange, collaborative innovation, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. The event facilitated the promotion of world-class scientists, sharing high-quality scientific and technological achievements, exchanging high-caliber talents, and mutual learning in higher education.

In November 2023, delegates from the Nanjing University (NJU)-Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Center for Chinese and American Studies visited New York City and engaged in a dialogue with Minghong Lu and Gang Xu, representatives from the Nanjing University Education Foundation. The visit comprised three sequentially organized events: NJU Development Briefing and Discussion chaired by Vice President and Professor Zhenlin Wang, China’s Modernization and its Path of Open Development chaired by Professor Yinxing Hong, and a New York Area Alumni Gathering chaired by Yunxia Ma, President of NJU-JHU Center Alumni New York. These events were designed to enhance the bonding and communications among NJU alumni and contribute to the development of their shared community.

The alumni actively participated in the gathering, expressing their enthusiasm for future communication events. One alumnus remarked, “Although the journey may not be easy, we find clues of hope everywhere.”

In celebration of the 110th birth anniversary of Madame Chien-Shiung Wu, a distinguished nuclear physicist of the 20th century and an NJU alumna, the Nanjing University Alumni Association United States hosted a series of memorial events in 2022. These events included a global symposium in her honor, through collaboration with over two hundred Chinese and Korean organizations, university alumni associations, and individuals.

Responding to the event, the former president of NJU, Professor Shu-sheng Jiang, commented, “Madame C. S. Wu is not merely the pride of Nanjing University; she is a scientist that belongs to humanity.”

眷眷母校情，拳拳赤子心

南大美国校友欢聚纽约 祝福母校百廿周年校庆

2022 年5月7日正逢母亲节前夕，来自全美各地的近120位校友代表相聚在纽约中城时代广场旁的Marriott  Marquis大酒店，代表全美各地22个南大校友会的上万名在美国的海外赤子，为母校百廿周年校庆送上殷殷祝福。

这场“全美南京大学校友120校庆峰会“，由美国南大基金会，及费城，纽约，波士顿和芝加哥四地校友会联合主办，其他各地校友会积极参与。校友中近的来自纽约，新泽西，宾夕法尼亚，马萨诸塞，康乃狄克，特拉华，远的来自伊利诺伊州芝加哥，密歇根，明尼苏达，德克萨斯，亚佐治亚，北卡罗来纳，加利福尼亚, 以及佛罗里达等地，还有的校友前一晚专程坐飞机从巴黎赶来参与盛会。此外还几十位校友从美国、德国、日本和加拿大线上参与了本次峰会。与会校友曾在各个年代就读于南大不同院系。最早的有七十年代走出南大的毕业生，最年轻的有去年刚离开南大来美国求学的校友。新老朋友欢聚一堂，南大成长的共同经历是把大家紧密联结在一起的纽带。会上三十年未见的老师与学生再相见，毕业几十年后的同学喜相逢，一份份的惊喜，一声声的感慨，道不完的眷眷母校情，诉不尽的拳拳学子心。更多的是素未谋面的在不同专业领域发展各有建树的校友们通过了解交流，建立起新的友谊。

南大吕建校长通过录像为此次峰会发来祝贺。他代表南大和南大校友总会，对于关心母校发展的校友和校友组织送来了诚挚的问候和感谢。他说，母校与校友血脉相连，情感相系，命运相通，是情感共同体， 发展共同体和命运共同体。校友组织是筑牢这三大共同体的强健胫骨。在美校友，作为南大校友的杰出代表，始终秉承“诚朴雄伟、励学敦行”的校训，在各个领域开拓创新，奋勇争先，用实际行动诠释了“嚼得菜根、做得大事”的南大精神。

这次校友峰会除了联谊以外，另一个重头戏是三场高规格、高档次的校友专题圆桌讨论会。在各自领域干得风生水起的校友精英，分别围绕学术科研和公司的职业发展、校友创业和金融资本发展，以及生物医药领域的发展与挑战等进行了专题座谈。嘉宾们根据自己的专长，探讨了人工智能新生物医药技术在疾病诊断和治疗方面的应用，新药的研发，药物的靶向治疗，生物医药行业的创业以及个人的健康管理。大家回忆南大往事，分享人生经历，交流专业知识和职业发展经验，让与会的每位校友获益匪浅。

此次峰会，还得到了纽约地区广大校友志愿者地无私奉献和大力协助。他们在宾馆内部引导校友到指定的会议地点，帮助注册，摄影。5月7日的纽约虽然寒风凛冽，大雨瓢泼，但室内浓浓的校友情却让所有参会的校友感到无比的温暖与亲切。会议中途休息期间，校友们集体合影及录像，大家一起在灯火灿烂的时代广场背景前，一起为母校欢呼祝福，祝南大生日快乐！
